Does anyone help there horses stretch out after exercise, after having the physio last week I've started adding a couple of reps of the topline stretch that engages the core muscles, this is in conjunction with carrots stretches and tail pulls as he seems to really like that.

Just wondered if anyone else does this on a daily basis and do you see the benefits? (especially in the topline)

I do stretching exercises with my horse after he's been ridden. He has a sacroiliac injury so the physio recommended I do them to strengthen his core and improve his suppleness. I bought a book and DVD by Hilary Clayton who is one of the leading experts in horse movement and I follow her exercises. We also do trotting poles to help engage his core. I think the exercises definitely help and it's also a nice way to spend time with your horse and bond as he receives lots of carrots!

That's fab I learnt how to do the core excercises watching her videos on YouTube, seemed the nicest way to do it not using to much pressure. Will have to look into getting her book!
