Does anyone know where I would be able to get an engine for my 1979 diesel Bedford TK, or know of anyone mechanical who could help me out? The engine has seized so I need to replace it.

try scrap yards, perhaps? a lot of them are scrapped not so much because the engines have gone, but because the chassis are generally rustbuckets which wouldnt be worth restoring! we had a '78 TK which we sold for £800 a couple of years ago; engine was fine, v low mileage, but we couldnt afford to have the bodywork and chassis sorted out!

You could try Vass who are Bedford specialists, but they're in Beds so might be a bit far.

Which model exactly ?
We have a '78 4 cylinder one sitting at the yard rotting away. The engine is sound as a pound and still starts first time every time even now. Problem is the clutch has seized where it's been left standing for over a year but that wouln't take much doing to release. You could have the whole thing for a few hundred pounds...it even had a new exhaust last year ! We're in East Sussex too so not far

Also keep an eye on e-bay for engines or for a whole lorry where the bodywork is knackered but the engine is still OK.
