Any one have an English Bull Terrier and how does it get on with other dogs? I really really want one for a pet and also to show but loads of folks are telling me they dont get on with other dogs. What have you guys found with them? I just love them...

My mother has one, she is the most soppy, dog friendly, kid friendly beautiful dog ever. Do not hesistate to have one they are fantastic dogs.

Mum has one and it doesn't get on with my bull dog at all, in fact I don't like the dog , don't trust it. Sorry IMO

When I used to work at a kennels, one of our regulars was an english bull terrier called Tilly, she was a lovely dog to handle and very soppy and affectionate. However her owners always used to arrive and leave our premises with her muzzled just incase they bumped into another customer arriving with a dog or cat, as she was extremely agressive towards them and had been involved in some quite serious dog fights in the past, so the owners weren't willing to take any chances.

Whilst in a kennel with dogs passing she never used to be agressive but on the lead out of the kennel was a completely different matter. She is however the only dog of this breed that I have encountered so am not sure if it is typical behaviour or not.

I've bred and shown a few (have 3 at the moment so please come and take your pic!!lol)

Two of mine are fantastic with other dogs/cats & horses. 3rd (oldest) was fantastic till she had puppies & isn't trustworthy with other dogs now (entirely defensive I think). I've never had one have a go or fight or anything as I take no chances, but wouldn't ever trust her.
Bullies do play very rough and it can either intimidate or annoy other dogs, which isn't desirable.
I have sold plenty of bullies which have gone into homes with other dogs though and get on famously. Geerally I would say that it entirely depends how you raise them.

As far as people are concerned, contrary to the press they get, a well-bred well brought up bully is about the safest dog you could wish for around people.

there are some pictures of my lot on my webshots account:
