Can someone recommend an English farrier who comes to France? I have asked this before.

On my fourth farrier now. Flat feet pigeon toes, horses lame after trimming. Clueless on laminitis.

I am just off the A11 40mins south of Le Mans.

I have fourteen horses and other English friends would be interested.

I'll ask my farrier - I thinking he is cracking and has helped my horse no end - typical tb feet eg low heels etc. He is based in Canterbury so not too far from channel ports etc .

Try Clive Meers Rainger, he goes to France and Saudi to shoe for a Sheikh and is quite possibly the best farrier around! He is pro barefoot and has a wealth of skill and knowledge

Flat feet equals diet issues, I don't think changing farrier is going to solve your problems. But agree Clive Ranger is an excellent farrier if you are thick skinned :)

wasnt suggesting that they were or had only you had mentioned a few issues and that was one I have found him being able to make a big diffence in my horse who showed the same issue

Not that I know any of them personally, but there are quite a lot of trimmers working in France now, trained to work with barefeet,

I am not looking for a barefoot trimmer, but thank you. My Arab stallion is barefoot but he is the only one, he has never been shod. Thirty years ago I had a pony which had never been shod, he was trimmed by a farrier.

Grass is most likely your issue, high sugar content can make sensitive horses feet flat, or high iron inhibiting copper uptake which in turn causes a copper definciency which also does the same to feet. Magnesium also tends to be low in UK grazing, not sure about France though!

With some changes to diet, a flat footed horse will grow a better foot on it's own.
