*blushes and runs to hide in corner*
Ok, I just had to say - my horse, who I've had for 6 months, and I, jumped a nice big 1.20m course today, just schooling at home. I was so proud; I lost my confidence jumping with my last horse who was a bit hit and miss, and I felt like it was my fault that we were getting eliminated (even though we'd win as much as we were getting eliminated) and felt like people were talking about me etc. The first time out with my new horse I got eliminated at 2ft3, again because of confidence. People thought we wouldn't be able to do it, but look at us now! I'm so proud of him and pleased we decided to buy him, getting my confidence back! Ok, entirely self indulgent and i'm wondering whether to hit "ok, submit" as we speak, but...
Sorry guys.
It has to be done.

Thrilled for you.
My daughter had a very very difficult pony for 3 years... and always felt that people were pointing and laughing. Now she has the ride on my lovely TB and is going great guns....
Good for you, you sound like you have earned some rewards. I hope your confidence is restored....
Well done. xx

Bubblegum, sounds a lot like me! He was my first horse and he was just a very tricky horse to ride, and yet everyone seemed to think they could do a better job. And the trouble is, once he'd stopped a few times it did become partly my problem as I would anticipate it. He would stop six or seven strides out, plant his feet and refuse to move, and there was nothing I could do, using a whip or riding in spurs just sent him mental and he'd start spinning. His heart wasn't in it bless him, and I totally blamed myself, but this new horse has done me wonders, to start with every fence he jumped I was like amazed we'd got over it! Glad your daughter is going well and hope both of us can prove them wrong!
