For those that haven't read my posts, I have taken my 20yr old boys shoes off as I haven't ridden regularly for ages, my fault not his.
Anyway, have started ground work with him, using In Hand Excercises, turns, bending, shoulder in etc.
I have also been leading out on the roads to harden his feet, not what I intended when I took his shoes off.
I am so enjoying our new way of working together. I think he is to. He has gone from a pony who can be reluctant to be caught to a 'what are we doing today then'.
He is out 24/7, as an experiment, he has always been stabled at night in the winter, clipped and rugged in the 10 years I've owned him. I do have a stable for him if he needs it.
We are both relaxed and chilled and enjoying ourselves with no pressure on either side.
My OH is also keen to walk out with us!
