My five year old mare was seen by the vet today. She has been getting bigger and bigger in the gut without any other symptoms. After internal exam both vets felt large mass unlike anything known to them. They are thinking cystic ovaries maybe but having read up about them she has shown none of the symptoms for that. They gave injection of progestin? and took blood samples. They are hoping this will help to shrink the mass. They are coming back in a fortnight to see if there's any change. Has anyone had anything like this before? She is well in herself and eating and doing everything normally, she just looks 11 months pregnant.
