Hi does anyone have any experience of these lesions. They were originally caused by insect
hypersensitivity and are now hard to the touch. Are neither itchy, or sore. Some are in isolation but others especially on the neck are in clusters.
Vet said nothing can be done. Although not causing any problem to the horse are not pleasing to the eye especially now coat shedding. Any ideas please would be appreciated.

I've dealt with them a lot, and there's nothing you can do really. You can inject them but I've never found that to work really.
There are some that will just disappear of their own accord. My own horse had one which was noted when I had him vetted at the age of five. He's now 15 and it disappeared when he was around 9.

Thank you for your reply. I think I am clutching at straws really. My horse had the lumps/hives when I bought him in June. Was told they were fly bites and would go away but never did. Now the recent diagnosis.
