Anyone used one of these? Thinking of getting to warm up my pony’s back before riding and use on my other mares hock.

i have one! Don't find that it makes a huge amount of difference to my horse (he's got arthritis) - to be honest he seems to be less stiff in winter if allowed to warm up wearing his furry exercise sheet than if he's groomed and tack up whilst wearing his pad. Would also imagine that it would be quite fidly wrapping it round the hock and trying to get it to stay up and not slip down - the heavy battery would IMO cause it to slip down.

Horse's physio recommends using a hot water bottle instead as they are much cheaper - if you want it to stay on a fidgety horse than just wrap a surcingle over the top

I have one and I use it a lot. Pretty much every day in the winter, especially. I do notice a difference, she comes out a little more supple during the warm up and she really enjoys having it on. I pop it on for twenty minutes before I tack up.
I’ve never used it on a hock though.

I used to use hot water bottles but it was a faff and I was worried about it getting too hot.

I have one for Rose and discussed it with my physio who thought it was great to use in colder weather as it warms the muscles up. I did try using hot water bottles but as Scats said,"they were a faff". I use a protechmasta rug as well, especially for travelling to lessons and comps, does the same job but not as quickly.
