i know there is a post about this on the new lounge but just wanted to check the symptoms, are they shortness in a stride with a slight limp??

thanks in advanced

i think it can vary in horse to horse

if the horse is tying up/going down with azourtoria (sp) then yes, he could show the symptoms you describe, together with maybe swelling in the hind quarter area of the back and coloured urine

but lots of other things could cause those symptoms too

EPSM can also be mild enough just to make the horse lethergic and you just think you have a lazy horse

if it's azourtoria you'd be best calling a vet in for treatment, rest immediately

otherwise have a look at diet. i just feed no hard feed, use selenium vit e lisene supplement by naff, pink powder and half a mug of oil. that's enough to perk my horse up no end
sorry for rambling, hope some of that helps

hope its not azourtoria

thanks for your reply Asspantio it is very helpfull!!

he is lazy but as far as i know he has never tied up he just has a short stride on his near fore and is slightly lame i have had his feet done as they were a mess ( i havent had this horse long!!) so hopfully the lameness is pressure from long toes!!!

will try and get hold of the vets and see what they say !!

thanks again
