Epsom salts ratio to water ?

I suspect my mare has a foot abcess brewing, so I am standing her foot in warm water with epsom salts. Any idea of what ratio I should be using ??

I use a good handful and then put enough warm water in so that the hoof is emerged in it. Normally up to the fetlock joint.

"If your horse as an infection in its hoof, you will need to tub the infected hoof. What you do is fill a clean bucket with warm water and put around three tablespoons of Epsom salts into the water. Then, have someone who knows your horse hold it while you place the infect hoof into the bucket. Your horse will have to stand there for up to ten or fifteen minutes twice per day until all the pus and other things in its hoof come out."

Thank you paulineh I had been chucking about that amount in and hoping it was right so I wasnt far off ! Just gotta get the youngster used to standing with her foot submerged - she was a little bit horrified the first time !!
