Equafleeces for dogs - who has one please?

Someone's highly recommended them for my new (rescued) lurcher, but I can't decide which one to get him, the Polo Neck Coat or the Dog Coat. Just trying to work out which is the warmest, or which is the deepest cut. They look like really nice fleece, water repellent, washable etc, any thoughts? Thankyou!
 
I have a Hotterdog poloneck for Henry - made by Equafleece, but cheaper as they don't have the same range of sizes and colours. I'm very pleased with it, it dries him off and warms him up nicely when it's wet and cold.

Also, it is red and therefore has a crucial secondary role in enabling festive dog abuse....

I am a big fan. We have normal coats with the slightly extended neck and we also have the polo-neck jumper type fleece for our 65kg mastiff who really feels the cold (big wimp!).

The dog always stays dry, even if it raining as the body heat make the fleece repel water and sit on the surface. The jumper type ones don't move around at all and have no bulky straps or clips to dig in etc when the dog curls up or sits. The quality of the stitching is brill and they machine wash with no problem at all. When comparing to other coats we have (okay, hands up, they have a large wardrobe each) the equafleece smells less 'doggy' quickly.

I have just bought the spaniel bitch a lovely coat by Masta. It has a roll back fleece neck and is cleverly designed with what I can only describe as a T system. Head goes through a hole and a T goes through the legs also keeping the chest snug and then the tops of the T flap up the sides and velcro on. There is then and extra strap that goes round and secures. As my girl is a 9 month cocker, she is ultra wriggly and active. This coat does not budge. I also liked the fact I could try before I bought in the shop. This said, lady that runs equafleece is fab too; especially if you can see her on the stand at an event.
 
My whippet has had the same one for 3 years and it is still in perfect condition even after many washes. The only problem I have is when Tortoise wee's on the edge when he doesnt cock his leg properly - but thats whippets for you...( baby wipes on standby at the back door!)
 
I want to get one for Harley.... He shivers so easily. (woosy Pointer!)

There is one on ebay at the moment (not mine!!!). Far too big for Harley. It's a 34"... Aparently she had it on her GSD who refused to move in it?!! Would be a bargain if it was the right size.
 
Herman has one to dry him off in the office at work after a particularly mingy walk. I think they're amazing. We've had them in for ages (2-3 years) but the last month or so they've become super-popular - people are coming back for a second and then a third for when the other is in the wash.

He's never managed to wee on his either, but then it is marginally too small (his bum sticks out of it) :lol:
 
I've got the dog jumper ones for my cockers. They are great for walks on wet days and I also put them on after they've had a bath (as they are pathetic and shiver.)

I bought them at their stand at Burghley and am really glad I did as we ended up buying a 24 inch slim which I would never have ordered if I was measuring them myself! The lady on the stand was really helpful and we tried on loads to make sure they fit and the colours were right :D
 
I've had two for my borders and now two for JRTs all polo neck type. Fabulous to care for and warmth. Not all dogs like them. I'd say mine have been split but all wear them in real cold. There are a lot cheaper copies around now too.
 
I've got one for each of my two dogs; both types. They're absolutely fab, wouldn't be without them. The older dog wears hers at night like pyjamas!

I've also got their "Endurance" riding jacket - will keep you nice and warm especially down over your back which is where its needed; plus horsey has a fleece quarter sheet (florescent) to keep his bottie nice and warm. So we're well kitted out.

This is a Devon company and I've always found them very good to deal with; their stuff is always well made and does what it says. Can't say better than that really. Highly recommended.

If you wanna keep really warm, get one of their riding fleeces PDQ.
 
Cecil's coat must be 10 years old and still going strong! I just bought my BC a Tankie, it's like the one the GSD is wearing but without the sleves, mainly because he couldn't cope with sleeves. Brilliant, super quality stuff, horse or dog!

JRT has a Hotter jumper with legs, nice coat, not as good as Equafleece but cheaper.
 
I have got the one with the polo neck bit and the holes for front and back legs ( sorry, cant remember its name! ) for my Collie and Doberman and they love them. :D

When they come in soaking wet and muddy, the fleeces are great for drying them off, keeping them warm, and with the collie, keeping her big wet coat off furniture and carpets until she is dry.

They are brilliant. :D
 
I have the jumper for my lurcher as she is a wuss, and gets very cold. I got it in the flourescent as it is fantastic for checking out where she is when I take the horses on the moors. Without her fleece she is teh same colour as a large piece of granite

Another fan here. Both my dogs have the jumper style and they are great, they were the only ones I could get over bulldog boys head anyway but they keep both dogs warm, dry and toasty. They also wash really well and retain their shape.

I'm seriously tempted to get my new girl another with the leopard collar as she's a proper lady :D
 
I love the Equafleece fleeces :D

My little staffie has a polo neck coat which has lasted years and worn and washed really well but the belly strap no longer does up as she filled out a little :o

She now has a little tankie - the only one 'off the shelf' they do that will fit her odd measurements :rolleyes: she is a very small and narrow staffie but bigger and wider than other terriers :o

Admittedly I prefer the polo neck coat to the tankie but like the fact the tankie has no straps :D

Im sure the wee wee problem is just with whippets...... design floor with the angle of their pee pee. Tortoise will more often than not hit his front leg when going for a wee hence the need for baby wipes. His jumper is slighty too big and it hangs a little under his belly..

Tortoise absolutly loves his jumper, he wears it all the time. He is just like a baby when putting it on - he lifts his feet and just about puts it through the leg holes on his own.
 
All this talk! Couldn't resist!!

Ordered yesterday lunchtime and arrived this morning. They could have been more helpful over the phone!

They were super with us too, my Mum was explaining why B needed one (he had removed all the hair from his belly and chest and we wanted to stop him from scratching/keep him warm on his baldy bits and the woman on the phone was "aw, the poor love, bless him"

Very smart :D

He looks great. Did you get the zip added? If not, is it easy to get them in and out of the full suit?

I want one for my boy (he has a coat and an extended neck jumper) as it will cover his back end and keep it snug. I currently layer my equafleece ones under a think 'standard' type coat when they are in the kennel during the day for any length of time. He is super snug!

Must upload some pics of the pup in her new masta pink coat, which is so secure and cosy. She looks so sweet!
 
I'm not sure what size to order, she normally takes a 54cm approx 22" in a danish design coat. Whats the slim fit suitable for ? like a grey hound ?

What size did you order Galaxy ? He looks very smart, you should send them a pic
 
OK I'm now going to put a damper on the praise of Equafleeces. Although I love them and have had 3 of the jumpers so far, Dash seems to have a talent for ripping his :mad: He ripped the entire shoulder open on his second wearing of it and now, having just got it back from being repaired, he was hooning with some of his agility mates and came back to me with a chunk out of it again :mad::mad: In fairness to him i think another dog was playing rough with him and did it but still.

We are not amused :mad: :mad: :rolleyes:
 
Not I didn't have the zip put in.... The front obv just goes on like the jumper would (over head the pull arms in) and the back legs were very easy to put in... even on a wiggling Harley! To be honest the front legs were harder to put in....

His is a 28". You measure from he breastbone to top on tail. He measured 27" and they advised the next measurement up (which was fine by me cause at 14 months he's still got some filling to do). The slim ones are for Greyhounds etc. They say they if you length measurement is more than 2" longer than your chest/girth you need a Slim. Harley is a waif and he measure for a standard (although for the body suit I don't think they do a slim). At the moment the only bit that's too big is the waist as he's a skinny whinny! ;) But the woman on the phone said as he finishes developing he'll chunk out (I agree) so he'll fill it. So I may put a tuck in there just incase he squats rather than cocks on any occasion!!!
