When using these wormers for the year do you then need to swap to a different ingredient wormer for the next year or can you keep them on equest long term?

There is now some resistance to moxidectin being found in some areas of UK. It is always good practice to change the ingredient to prevent resistance build up and if possible only use equest in december to do the small redworm as they have known resistance to panacur and we dont want the little buggers to get resistance to equest too!

Thank you, so if I was to use pramox 1st april and 1st oct then equset in winter and a worm count in summer does that sound ok...

I have 4 horses split into 2 paddocks 2 mares in one 2 geldings in other they are poo picked alternate days girls one day boys the next.

Im just trying to sort out a worming programme thanks for any help

There are 2 horses at the yard I'm on that Equest Pramox doesn't work for 100%..... So very advisable to wormcount and alternate your wormers every year.

There was a good article in The BHS magazine from several wormer companies that suggested basically regardless of what make of wormer you are using just worming for tapeworm in Autumn and Spring and Red worm in the middle of winter and then doing a worm count in the summer.
