Equestrian Direct horse insurance

Yes I got a quote a few years from them and if am not mistaken I think they were very expensive, dont know if they pay out though

I had my horse insured with them a couple of years - they were reasonably priced and when I claimed there were no issues with paying out. I made two claims within 6 months and they paid up with no fuss.

They used to be called something else and we used to use them, they then changed names and became very expensive, so stopped. We never had to claim though.

Cheaper than pet plan, and payout. They are who mac was insured with and I am sure you are away of how many claims he went through and they paid out his loss of use in the end to. Personally I think they are very good, they were easy to deal with and paid out quickly. There were some changes with the underwriters but still all went through fine.

Were they Bankers Equine Direct? If yes then they were superb, and paid very quickly

I think they were.

Been with them 5 years now and we've made 2 claims and always had a cheque within a week or so - very pleased with the service from them. Have trailer insured with them too.

In Dec 3yrs ago I had to make a claim for Mo who had been kicked & had to have a splint bone removed. Then a few weeks later Spice broke a hind leg & had to be pts. They paid without too many probs, enough for me to stay insured with them.

Oooh thanks again - this is great, as I am so suspicious of all but a few firms and these are guaranteeing that their price can't be beaten. Excellent!

I would be surprised if the bit about price was true - you'll have to let us know.

fantastiv been with them 6yrs ish made many claims must have paid out near to 8k in the last couple of years never any problem. now insured under there veteran plan (over 17) and only paying £40 more to cover everything (well that wasnt already excluded!!) inc colics etc.. would have no reason to change.

I Have never heard of them but would stick with NFU! I am dealing with an insurance claim on behalf of a friend where her horse was killed along with its rider (her friend) in a car accident. They have been nothing but professional and caring. they paid out straight away for her horse and initial vets bills and there has been no problem with sorting third party claims. They have instructed a solicitor, all included in the cost to help claim uninsured losses and to act on behalf of the deceased family (she had two children under 5) It is worth reading all the small prints when looking at insurance. They may quote cheaper prices but check whats included. It is only times like we have faced that you realise how important the correct insurance is. It has certainly made me think.
