I don't think they were making enough money. You may have seen quality dropped about a couple of months ago that was because the partnership that started the magazine split and the Pearn's stopped being involved in the production and editing. I think it was then too much for Lucy Johnson.
They were always going to struggle to make it pay. I really enjoyed it too.
thats a shame. hadn't picked up the last few issues but I was always impressed but on the same note amazed they were able to produce it for free simply from advertising sales. What is Katherine donig now then as it seemed to be her project and I hadn't realised she had pulled out...
That's a real shame, it was shaping up to be a superb mag...they had sponsorship on offer (CCJ got all the way to the choice between her and another girl in one comp, and they did a half page write up about her) and their pictures were very good.
At least that explains why it hasn't been in my local feedstore recently.
Same here, i've been going in asking if the Aug copy had arrived, but nothing.. i agree, standards had slipped alot over the last few issues, which is a shame, but even so it was a very enjoyable read, it filled me in on all the local gossip!!
Would be nice if someone else were to take it on with LJ
I also miss West Country Riders as it was when it was a monthly...always seem to miss it now they put it in the WDPress!! Is it at beg or end of month??
