So then girls - where exactly are all the single equestrian men? - How do you find a nice one? - Its not easy is it? or is it?

Any advice?

What ? Have a bloke into horses as much as you and expecting you to clean his tack and wash his jods hell no way!!

You want a non-horsey mechanically DIY minded one who will be happy to service your 4 x 4 and repair fences, stables and gates much more useful!!
 
I only have to say I have horses and that I need to visit them twice a day and thats it they are off.............. strange species.

I think you just have to find a 'normal' one and break them in to meet your own criteria. you have to be careful and not do too much too soon or they get headshy and silly and you have to turn them away and rough them off. Good luck with your search....;-)

I notice that no men have suddenly posted a comment - I just dont get it - where are they all.

I found one who used to ride at a riding school as teenager and married him quickly before he could discover just how completely horse ownership takes over your life. I kept very quiet about horses until we had signed that marriage certificare

now he is an absolute saint, lets me work part time, pays for the horses, never begrudges a vet bill.... I really should be nicer to him.
 
didn't have horses when i got together with my ex, when i did get them he ended up getting jealous, dislikeing them and after 2 1/2 years i am single.
haven't found a single equestrian man yet

No, they aren't! I met my OH playing polo. Disclaimer - we probably won't have kids, we'll just have more horses. Suits me fine

On the downside, we row cataclysmically over the best way to school a horse. On the plus side, he buys very expensive saddles for birthday presents and knows which brand to get!
 
I love polo - been to a few matches seen some lovely guys but all seem to be with someone- maybe i will try again this summer - they are very fit. Sounds like you are a lucky one :-)

Once you've surgically removed the 'chukka chicks' off them, they are quite nice really! And they have the added bonus that they come with their own lorry...
 
I have one too! I met him on the yard, he already had a horse on the yard when I moved there. Doesn't compete but supports me fully.
 
I think someone should organise an Equestrian Mixer - a Ball that brings together all the ladies and gents of jumping, dressage, polo, eventing etc...there would be a good mix of people and a chance to meet some equestrian blokes who can tell the difference between a wither and a fetlock! All the blokes are in show jumping & polo...
 
I went for a man who describes horse's as smelly, time consuming, money grabbers! But while I have been out of work he has supported me and my horse, paying for shoeing, feed, livery etc. He's an angel and wouldn't swap him for the world!!
 
I too have gone down the horse box mechanic route, and fortunately he also diversifies into stable building, concrete layingm fence making and gate welding.... His Mothers and sister had horses, so he's well versed in mucking out and leading to field etc. but has no desire to ride- fine, that's my hobby.
 
I used to be a single equestrian male but then I got snared age 30.
I do not expect my wife to clean my tack (her standards aren't good enough).
I do fix the lorry and anything else that breaks, drive her and both children to comps, exercise her horse for her, do all the clipping and have my own horse which I compete

The reason us single horsey men are single is that our horses take up so much time! (..and then there is the field and stable maintenance not forgetting the horsebox, and keeping the house clean)!
...and of course local bridleway and road safety issues.
(Must squeeze in some work as well).
