Hi

Does anyone know of any large equestrian stores in the Yorkshire area??

I live near Leeds and need to buy a new hat. I have been to Rideaway in York but they didn't have what I wanted. I know of Robinsons in Manchester but thats a 150 mile round trip. Does anyone know of a good store or shop closer?

Thanks in advance

What sort of hat do you want?

There is Throstle Nest at Barnsley. It's not a superstore by any means but has a good range of products, you could google them and give them a call to see if they have the sort of thing you are looking for.

Robinsons is very close to Haydock Park racecourse and Derby House is just a few miles north. You must be planning a very roundabout route to make it 150 miles round trip. I should check that but you can buy a hat at most tack shops, you don't need to go to a super store. In fact I tried some on at Robinsons and couldn't find what I was looking for, so came back and got exactly what i wanted in a local shop. Local shops don't have cafes though!

How about Fox Saddlery in Wetherby ? Not huge but pretty good range of quality stock. Give them a call first check they have the brand you want and not too far from Leeds.

The is a great equestrian superstore in Chesterfield (great rangebofnhats and a proper fitting service) but I think thats a bit of a drive for you. I think it is called T. Seymour, but can't be certain, it is just some where I turn up at!

I should probably of said 'large store/shop' as it doesn't need to be huge, just have a bit of a range.

Its not a specific exact hat that i'm after, just one that is comfy to my head and vented.

Smaller store recommendations are great too thanks.

Depending on whereabouts in South Leeds the OP is, a journey to Haydock Racecourse is a minimum of 60 miles each way = 120 miles

Or R&R in Escrick? Large, but from what I remember the hat selection concentrated on a couple of brands only.

And there is Country Stores (or something like that) in Collingham (nr Wetherby); not sure if they sell hats as well, but has an equestrian section upstairs. Very small selection of hats, probably.

Rideaway for range of products, but Throstlenest for value for money and service. Easy to get to as well..... About 10 minutes from the M1, j37.

If Rideaway didn't have what you were after i'd do for throstlenest too. Foxes or Beaver Horse shop also might be able to help, beavers is pretty big now. Hate R and R with a passion after they sold me a faulty (expensive) bridle and refused to refund it.
