Hi everyone

Lurked for ages but rarely posted. Love horses but dont own one or ride on a regular basis, my daughter used to but stopped when she became more competitive at swimming and gymnastics.

Anyway now she does neither of those and we are looking to get back into horse riding again.

I have very little experience, I go on hacks on holidays and visit a friend who has horses occasionally but kind of drifted away from it all. Daughter is an ok rider but will be very rusty and will need lessons again.

Anyway I wondered if anyone has any you tube channels or anything that are decent and will wet our appetite for it all.

Very doubtful we would own our own anytime soon but would be open to a mum/daughter loan down the line.

Any advice would be great.

Do you mean instruction videos on Youtube, or just horsey channels to watch for enjoyment? If the latter, I enjoy This Esme, Lilpetchannel, Elphick Event Ponies, Blob the Cob and Footluce Eventing. I don't really know of any instructional channels, although World Horse Welfare have some nice, informative videos.

Thanks yeh, just more for enjoyment really and a nosey. Going to book daughter some more lessons so she can get back into riding again and I am going to ask a friend if I can help out with her horses again and just take it from there.

Your Riding Success have been pumping out videos about all sorts, from high level dressage to taking care of your own pony. Hackett Equine is also great, Miri is extremely likable and very honest, it's a pleasure to watch her. This Esme is also very highly rated, and Matt Harnicke (though not my cup of tea) is also good.

ETA: Emma Massingale is also good, and her adventures make me jealous!

Riding with Rhi is a lot more informative than any of the influencers mentioned above. Most of them only seem to post minimum content for ads or because they are being paid to do something. She just bought her first horse who is lovely.

True but the above channels would be good for entertainment value and would likely be exciting for OP daughter. YRS has actually had some decent dressage content since moving to the UK and I think it’s great they’re doing the series with the TB.
