hi everyone!

right this is going to sounds VERY vague - as always with me!

lets face it - equestrianism really needs a few more pushes to get it in the limelight! we've had the pussance televised - only fools on horses..... but what next.... how can we get people noticing this sport and the people involved - something to get your brains ticking!!!!

any ideas - no matter how far fetched - would love to read your views!!! thanks for reading!

Gotta be another TV show with nags involved, maybe expand the "only fools on horses" to other disiplines, eventing, polo? Or maybe a reality show looking at actual lives of horsey people and following them.....bit like all these home/gardening shows etc, but watching how horse owners buy, back, train youngsters, going to their first events...and maybe even the business side of it....

Maybe they would need someone quite famous for this show...

Hmm just a thought whilst i ponder over my sarnies!

How about getting Jade Goodey and Oliver Skeete onto OFOH next year

haha! that would be a laugh! so - on that note - as well as keeping the ideas rollling in... what celebrities would you want to get involved??

there are so many horse owners and riders in the uk,i think a weekly show on tv would be great, there are so many diffrent activities you can do with horses i think it would be great for the general public to see what we really get up to. well most of what we get up to! lol.

Really agree : a friend did think there was a great opportunity for a series based on all the "goings on" at her livery yard .... she reckoned that if she "sexed it up" a bit (and from what I know about her livery yard, it would only be a bit!) it could include everything - romance, rivalry, maybe a bit of crime and skullduggery - supervets - competition .... in fact she got quite carried away, but I can see how something like that could attract the general public, who would then learn more about the horses and their care??!!

I always say the things that happen on yards I've been on/around is perfect material for a reality based sitcom/fly on the wall type thing!!

I think in the long term, the only way to open the sport up, is to try and get across how the majority of us may well be exccentric borderline lunatics, but few of our bank accounts have ever been in the black!!!
