I have had Ben on Naf 5* Superflex for four years now, and was wondering whether it made a huge difference or not. At Olympia I was looking at EquiElements, and was told all the spiel about how amazing it was etc, and having spoken to a few people that have tried it, I decided to give it a go. Well, I can't honestly say whether I've noticed a difference as due to the snow, I haven't done much with my lad at all! I'm now coming to the end of the bottle, and I don't know whether to buy a new bottle or if there are better things on the market.

Basically Ben's history is this - in 2005 he had a nasty accident and underwent two operations. It was touch or go whether he would even come field sound, but a year later he was back being ridden, hunted, jumped etc and as fit as ever. He has not shown any stiffness on that leg, but there is a lot of scar tissue there. I have had him on a joint supplement as a prevention rather than cure. He is now 16 (well he will be in May).

Has anyone got any experience with Equi-Elements, or are there any other supplements people would recommend? Price is no object - I just want him to have the best.

I use Feel Good 30 Joint and Relief for my 17 yr old arthritic hunter - he's a bit heavier than Ben and has lots of wear and tear on his joints. Without the supplement, he is not comfortable enough to work on the hard or on the roads. Google it - it has joint support and also devils claw and boswellia for pain (discomfort) relief. To make him as sound as he is on the supplement, takes 2 sachets of bute daily instead.

I know all horses are different but he was on cortaflex and devils claw before and they made no difference

It's hard to get hold of - very few feed suppliers stock it. I get it online from supplementsolutions.co.uk

i use aviform suppleaze gold for my 30+yr old. when he started on it he was still in work & it definately helped. i have recommended it to several of my friends who also highly rate it!

Aviform Suppleaze gold is the best Joint supp ive tried, i also use Boswellia. Made a big differance to all my horses.

I did swap to Equi Elements in November i put all of us on it, i never noticed a differance in myself or the horses or dog. I have stated this on another post. I bought 2 bottles of it for the horses so i did give it a good try, but no differance was made at all. Needless to say i havent re-newed & ive gone back to what i used to use.
