I have a 2007 Equi Trek Show Treka L that has a few problems including a very frightening occurrence of wheel bearings catching fire whilst travelling to a show! This has now been fixed under a recall, but was due to the company using materials/equipment that were clearly not "fit for purpose". I now have a problem with the ramp becoming "mushy" and have been told by Equi Trek customer services, that the ramp is made of plywood and has got wet and so given way!!!! Surely that ramp should last longer than 5 years with very minimal use and being serviced and maintain regularly? I have asked Equi Trek to repair the ramp - but they are not interested:mad: We are now thinking of making a claim through the Small Claims Court under the sale of Goods Act, but are very reluctant to do this as it seems a lot of hassle. There are lots of threads on this forum regarding ET's being of dubious quality. Any ideas folks?

In the last few years their have been numerous posts about their poor after sales service. Taking someone to the small claims court is easy but forcing them to pay up may not be so easy! You could always get an independent trailer person to sort out your ramp. (I would also get them to check the floor etc. at the same time).

Do you have anything in writing (emails count) from eqitrek ie have they refused to repair the ramp?
If so get a quote for repair and use the online small claims process as under UK law the item should be fit for purpose and last six years for something like this.
If you need to hire a replacement while your's is out of action claim for this too.

Don't have anything in writing as it was a telephone conversation, but will send a message to ET. I will definitely consider small claims now. Thank you!!!!!:)
