EquiAmi - How does it work?

I would like to get a lunging aid to encourage my horse to accept and work into a contact, to work though her back and lift her shoulders, stretch forwards etc and am considering either:
a) a bungee with a tail bandage around the hind quarters
b) a chambon with a tail bandage around the hind quarters
or
c) the EquiAmi

I want something as simple as possible with the minimum action to get her working properly and I want to avoid anything that fixes her head down.

I have read lots of encouraging info and reviews on the EquiAmi, but can't see anywhere exactly how it is attached and what it does on the horse.
Can any of you enlighten me please?

I have recently bought an EquiAmi so will try and help you out.

There is one rope that attaches to the roller goes round their bum and attaches the other side. Simple enough? The 'front end' rope attaches to the 'bum' rope at the roller then runs through the bit on one side of the horse down to the chest piece which is attached to the 'girth' between the front legs, then back through the other bit ring and finally attaches to the 'bum' rope on the other side of the horse. There are little loops that attach around the roller D rings so there is a certain amount of freedom in the ropes so the horse doesn't get pulled in the mouth when it engages its hindquarters.
My boy has only lunged in it 3 times but we have moments when he relaxes his head carriage and stretches down........ to grab a bit to eat! I will be glad when we can lunge in a sand arena instead of a grass one!!

I have an EquiAmi and I do really like it. My last mare used to really stretch down with it and lift through the back. Made a really nice shape and lightened. I think its good at helping balance a horse too as it has an even contact and the horse cant lean on either side of it.

Have tried it once with my new boy so need to do a bit more with him using it as he would benefit from being encouraged to work long and low too.

I have one horse that I compete in affiliated dressage classes and a 4yr old that is just beginning his career both are lunged for twenty mins twice aweek in the Equi Ami which i have been using for about two years.
In my opinion it is a must for every yard the Horse cannot lean on the system because the Equi Ami dosent have a fixed point unlike a pessoa for example.I find it exteremly easy to adjust even whilst wearing gloves and i always end my sessions with all the setting on minimum to allow my horses to strech down fully

i have one and my mare was totally unbalanced- she couldnt canter on the lunge without pratically falling over and now she is excellent, really makes a nice shape in it and can canter in balance, its simple to adjust and put on aswell. I can't compare as i've never used another training aid but i know im glad i bought it!
