EquiAmi vs Pessoa - which is better??

I havent tried a pessoa but I have an equi ami and I really like it. It evens itself out so the horse cant lean on one side. Great for my new boy as he has to balance himself.

It really depends on the horse/ pony I have used both and have had great success with both, the problem with the pessoa is horses learn to lean on it, if they tend to lean a equiami is better, but if you want your horse to work long and low a pessoa is best.

Thanks, I've also heard they are simpler to fit too. Hmm, I don't know - I'd like to buy some sort of aid for lungeing, heard the Pessoa's were good but then came across the Equiami ones!

What are you wanting to improve with your horse? There are so many training aids which help with different things. I think they are similar and Equiamis are simpler to use.

I would like to encourage him to work longer and lower, and just generally learn to carry himself better - and obviously improve topline which is going to make this easier. I've been using the elastic bungees when we lunge but he tends to resist against it or run onto his forehand quite a bit, and I don't like the 'pulled in' effect that you get from side reins. I think that lunge work is valuable though and that's why I thought that it might be worth investing in something like the Pessoa to help with this :)

I have been using side reins over the last few weeks and i really don't like them as they do not encourage horses to work with their hide legs underneath them. I was thinking about buying a pessoa but then heard about the EquiAm and i don't know which one to choice. My pony has not learned to lean on side reins and was told she probably would. I want my horse to be more balanced and work with her back legs underneath her also to come onto contact easier as I'm working on that without any aids but hoping that an aid would help her get the feel of it. Which one should i go for as i know the EquiAmi is slightly cheaper. :)
