I prefer the pessoa. My horse really fought the equi ami! I also like the fact that there are different position settings on the pessoa. Although I like to use a harbridge and lungee bungee together. Find that works best
Saddlesore - Why a harbridge and lungee bungee together? Surely the "side rein" effect of the lungee negates the benefits of the "round, low, stretch" effect of the harbridge?
Why not just use the harbridge on its own?
I prefer the equiami, but was looking the other day and thought that my horse is leading with this shoulder instead of lifting his shoulders - naughty boy to find an evasion.
His ridden canter work improved immensely and the only difference was twice weekly session in the EquiAmi.
Hiya, I do both. Sometimes I lunge in it on its own to encourage long and low (he really goes for it!) and other times I attach the lungee bungee on its loosest setting so prevent him becoming so low - in effect I guess its like adjusting the setting on the pessoa. I realise it seems a bit odd but everything is adjusted really loosely and he swings along really well in that combination. He still get pretty low, he can still stretch forwards and still flex side to side as the bungee is loose.
He will also hollow if i use the bungee on its own so i guess its a very subtle way of mirroring a soft hand contact on the lunge. Hope that explains the odd combo a bit!
ETA I also fit the harbridge loosely so he is not 'held' in any way, yet the combination seems to encourage him to relax and stretch.
