I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these. Normally lunge in side reins. Horse is a 4 year old going sweetly, no issues but just want her to work as effectively as possible for her age. Thoughts or anyone selling one?

I have one which I was lucky to pick up secondhand - I would never part with it!

My 4 year old has improved dramatically in it and is much more relaxed working in it than the Pessoa and bungee type training aids. It seems to be less restricting and more encouraging/rewarding. It is also really easy to fit and adjust.

It took him a few sessions to get used to it but it is really worth persevering with.

I would highly recommend them.

Definitely definitely definitely worth the money!! I haven't looked back since buying mine, and I recommend them to everyone.
As they work on a loop system they encourage the correct shape rather than force it, and it's impossible for the horse to lean on it at any point. Much nicer & more effective than pessoas/side reins etc IMO. It has helped my mare no end, she carries herself correctly, has built up a lot of muscle on her back and neck and seems to really enjoy it - she took to it straight away and has never shown any resistance to it like she had with previous training aids. I was initially worried that I might find fitting it a bit tricky, but after watching the DVD and doing it once or twice I can now put the whole thing on in less than 30 seconds - it's not as confusing as it looks! Amazing product! x

I'm very much an amateur, but since using my EquiAmi a couple of times a week I'm finding it much easier to get my horse to go in an outline, I'm even able to ride him long and low (this was always his excuse to mess me around and get spooky and silly), and he's not trying to lean on my hands as much. It's the best Christmas present I ever made my brother buy for me ha ha!!!😄😀😀 ;) :) :)

Yep deffo!! I love watching my horse work in it altho I cringe when he has a good stretch to the ground or a paddy as I think he's gonna get his feet caught up (never has touch wood) it's a brill piece of kit! My friend and sister get alot of use out of mine too and they also love it-friends horse is in a much different outline on the lunge now and is learning to stretch and work through

My physio recommended I got one for one of my horses & must say I have been very impressed with it so far. I use mine with a bridle

Oh & it's colour coded to help fitting easier for people like me who tends to get in a tangle :p

I use my bridle usually.

Has anyone used the Combi (ridden) version? I've got it but I haven't tried it yet - to be honest I can't see where the ropes would work for that I need to get it out and have a proper look :P

Off all of the various longeing rigs, I probably like them the best. As with everything though, take care, as I know a few horses who have reacted negatively to them initially and the parties involved found them difficult to release quickly. (Not a criticism of the Equi-ami per se, it can happen with any new piece of equipment.)

I've had mine about a month and have worked maybe 8-9 different horses of all ages and levels in it. Am highly impressed. Very little initial negative reaction to it and it really encouraged everyone of them to work correctly without forcing. I've used most types of lunging aids and previously found that what worked on one horse rarely worked as well on the next one, but this really has. Its too early to say what impact it will have on muscle development but mine are working in it twice and week and hopefully building up!!

Definitely worth it! My horse hated the pessoa and I didn't liked the action of it or the way it could catch him in the mouth - he goes beautifully in the equiami!

It's also much easier to put on/take off than the pessoa.
