We have a new arrival, a colt by Diamant de Semilly out of Millfield stud's Versace who is a Holsteiner by Contender.

After showing myself up by not knowing the foal could not be registered Holstein as it was born in UK I have been thinking about which stud book.

Zangersheide is an option, we already have a filly registered with them so know the way to go about it.

I was looking at Equicours on the web and they state that they are associated with Selle Francais. With Diamant as the sire would it be worth keeping a close link with France.

Wondered if anyone has had dealings with Equicours or have any ideas.

As if it was not hard enough having to think of a name, now lets see how does it go, what year is it, how many letters, what initiial letter is the sire etc ???????????????

Lovely breeding. If you think your foal might one day compete in age group classes do remember that GB receives invitations for horses registered with a British stud book and as far I am aware only AES and SHB are approved by WBFSH. I guess for showjumping you would always get a wild card for a Zangersheide registered horse!

Thanks for the replies.
Having given it a bit more thought I think he will be registered
and branded Z as we wish to name him after the stallion and then have the passport overstamped SHGB for showing in UK.
