I saw them advertised and thought no chance for £35 for socks!!!

They have become quite an arrogant company in my opinion, their response to your situation confirms that.

Wonder if the new waterproof gloves will be equally poor??

I know, that's why I asked for a pair for Xmas. There's no way I could justify the cost to buy for myself, so my mum offered to pay for a pair as an early present.

It could be a one off, and if staff training on complaints and customer services is put in place (I did several months of this in finance with regular retraining) it will hopefully have a positive effect in the future for them.

Retail is all about customer satisfaction and you've got to roll with the punches and try to turn it into a positive at the end of the day.

In contrast my Reolink broke after about 9 months. Customer service couldn’t fix it. They sent me a new one and I sent the old one back. New one arrived next day, before they received old one back.

Excellent customer service

Had the same with Ariat, wellies split within the year long warranty period. Sent off a photo of the issue and the label in the wellies that had the batch number. New pair sent out the next day, couldn't have asked for a better service.

Having managed a cafe as well as most days baking all the cakes. If there was an issue, you just had to fix it as quickly and calmly as you could to avoid any dramas.
Both human and machine error happen to the best of us. Not to mention the odd ingredient quality issue.

Yes you'd get the odd customer that couldn't make up their mind on which cake they wanted, then suddenly after they'd finished the cake it had been dry and stale and they wanted something else ... frustrating but you have to just try and fix the situation. Better to lose a few pennies than risk something effecting the reputation of your business!

Ariat have always been brilliant for me. Split wellies they have replaced instantly on two occasions. I don’t buy their wellies anymore but I do buy their other products and will continue to do so.

Also, Nibbleze nets have been great. I ordered 2 nets last week but the wrong type arrived. I emailed them and got a very quick reply apologising and the correct nets were sent out straight away with a pre-paid package for me to send the other ones back.
I will continue to order from them and will recommend them based on my experience.

Ariat customer service rocks and Hope Valley Saddlery too - how to keep a customer feeling valued. A thread of mine from 2019 re a £200 pair of Ariat short boots which scuffed shortly after purchase.

The replacements were grand 🙂.

After I contacted the returns dept of the online arm of the retailer that I bought the boots from, Ariat are sending out a replacement pair based on the photos. The retailer will arrange a mutually suitable day to swap the scuffed boots for the new ones. I was offered a full no strings refund, but have elected to try again as they were so comfortable.

I’ve recently treated myself to my first ever pair of Ariat paddock boots, the Devon Nitros, which cost a whopping £200 o_O.

They are fabulously comfortable. I asked in store if they were long lasting, and was assured that they are. I’ve worn them for just a few hours around the yard to break them in, and today for the first time, with my half chaps. They are now badly scuffed, plus they have acquired have a few random scratches. I haven’t been hard on them or done daft stuff while wearing them. I thought they’d last me for years.

Do your Ariat boots last well? Have I just been unlucky? I will be contacting the store I bought them from to raise a complaint.

I have purchased the dedicated Ariat leather conditioner to treat the new boots with from the off. No doubt its of a similar composition to most other cheaper leather conditioners, but it should do the job, shouldn’t it.

Fingers crossed that the new boots, when they arrive, are as hard wearing as I expect Ariats to be. It took a little while to sort, but all credit to the retailer and to Ariat for this result.

Other examples of GOOD customer service

Rowan Barbary - product (a powder) arrived with container cracked and some spilt. Sent a photo, and they sent me a refill pack to make up for what was lost.

Biteback fly repellents etc. Product came leaking, in a wet box. Again sent photos and sent a replacement.

That's appalling customer service! At no point EVER do you respond to a customer like they did in your screen shots.

I recently complained to a small business that the product they sent me didn't match their size guidelines (photo with tape measure sent). The replacement was with me in 48 hours and they arranged for Royal Mail to pick up the original.

I don’t agree with their customer service, but TBH if I had those photos sent to me my first thought is they’ve been snagged on some Velcro. I’m sure they haven’t but that would my first thought.
They certainly don’t look very durable and will not be on my list anymore.

I would say they look like someone has rubbed them on a cheese grater for several hours!! Would not expect such damage after being worn once.

Hmm, not the best customer service, they could have explained things a bit better.

I've also had excellent customer service from Ariat. They've replaced boots and a jacket, due to either zip failure or leather peeling. They are also so comfy!

My fave socks ever are Bridgedales but unfortunately too thick/heavy for riding and they don't make super tall ones (that I know of). I have Bridgedales that are donkey years old and still going strong and super comfortable. I do use them mainly for hiking though
Try: Heat Holders knee high, 2.3 togs, or the slightly thinner Heat Holder ‘lites’ if your riding boots are snug, plenty of stockists on eBay. Less than half that price!
