Equidry VS Reincoat (equicoat)

Hi all,

My birthday coming up & I have been looking at the Equidry with the 2 thermal rating (way too hot in the 3) or the reincoat lite.

Does anyone have any reviews on the 2 & which is best to spend my birthday pennies on

Equidry do a lite version which is not heavy, have a look at that one cannot comment on the reincoat, only just saw it the other day.

The normal equidry is very warm

I’ve just bought the equidry 2 thermal rating.
Havent had a chance to use it yet but I did try a reincoat lite on in Naylors. I just thought that I might get a bit clammy in the reincoat (as I tend to do with those type of waterproofs) but thinking I will just wear a t-shirt/baselayer under the equicoat as I’ll be too warm in anything else.

The two you’re looking at are not equal in terms of warmth. I have two Equidrys: the thermal rating 2 and the latest Equimac. I can only comfortably wear the warm one when it’s under 10C.It has stood up to heavy rain well, though. I’ve only worn the mac once since I bought it, and I can already tell I’ll get a lot more use out of it because it’s considerably cooler. There’s plenty of room to layer up underneath it, should you need to. If I hadn’t bought the warm one first (the earlier version of the mac didn’t have such a high waterproof rating, I don’t think), I probably wouldn’t have two as the mac would be enough for me.

thank you for this - I had a regatta version of the really warm one last winter which was great around the yard when it was freezing & raining. But was way too hot when doing any work like mucking out etc.

I think I’ll go the the equidry lite or the reincoat lite then
Just need to figure out which one is best between those 2

No worries! Just one thing, if you do go for an Equidry, make sure it's the Equimac, as the one with 'lite' in the name is actually the mid-rating one with the light fleece lining (the Equimac is mesh lined).

I preferred them to the Equidry as they have a drawstring waist so it looks a little less dry robe like, although I still wouldn't call them flattering. But when I've stayed dry on 4 hour hacks or poo picking in wind and rain I don't care how they look!

If I was to buy only one, I'd go with the lite version I think and layer up for winter.

The latest Equidrys also have a drawstring waist (both of mine do). They've updated the designs quite a bit since the original ones. My Equimac has a much better hood than my Evolution Lite (thermal one) too, though I think the hoods on the Equicoats/Reincoats are still bigger.

I’ve got an equidry lite which is the thermal 2 one. Love it. Barely wore another coat all winter.

Any updates post autumn use??

Thinking equidry evolution lite (thinner fleece lining) or the Reincoat Pro. My daughter has the same equidry in kids version and it does seem good…but hearing good things about the reincoat and similar costs now! For riding and general yard use.

I have the reincoat lite and it’s been perfect in this fairly mild but wet weather. I’m tempted by the warmer one but I’ve got a weetherbeeta Kyla that is brilliant in the cold.
