hi

Decided I'm going to put my lad on this and have ordered the loading dose.

Hoping it will help with new venue excitement and calming down show jumping!

As well as just being a good balancer - I do worry that he gets everything needs.

Anyone use it? Opinions?

Hmmm, I couldn't get my lad to eat it at loading dose, normal or half rations.

Chucked the whole lot away in the end, hopefully your lad won't be so fussy!

Btr

I have ordered some today as well :-) Am hoping that it might calm my daughter's mare down a bit, she's very excited now the eventing season has started.

We can compare notes.

I had my last horse on it with limited success although Equifeast were very helpful about juggling the different componenets (tryptofan, I think) and the magnesium. TBH, I think the horse just had a screw loose...

I have just heard of this supplement which I might try my boy on as he can be a bit stressy. I have been doing some research and have found a couple of reports that the horses behaviour has got worse during the loading dose, has any one on here found this? My confidence is very fragile and whilst I can generally cope with Max's current behaviour I'm not sure I could if it got worse!

For me, this is a miracle worker!
Mine wouldn't eat it in the loading period initially, but I mixed it into sugarbeet whilst I soaked the beet and then she ate it without a worry.

I'm currently trying the "bombproofing" additive before shows, more for my own piece of mind I think! Just adding a spoon into her feed the night before and morning of a show.

I think the people you speak to both on the phone and via email are SO helpful too.

Mine arrived yesterday, day after i ordered it :-)

I gave her a first dose in a small feed an hour before she was ridden, as suggested, is this what other people do? Is it just once a day in a feed before work?

She ate it all up, but she is generally quite greedy! How long before it kicks in?

I found it kicked in pretty quickly with ours - probably a few days.
They do warn that behaviour can temporarily get worse during the loading period but this is really rare. Our horses didn't get any worse.

OH's cob is absolutely unmanageable if he has too much magnesium. Apparently a small minority of horses just don't cope with large doses of mag especially if they're not getting a lot of calcium from elsewhere. I didn't realise there was so much mag in certain hard feeds so if people are feeding a mag supplement too it's easy to see how it could add up to too much. On Equifeast he is a MUCH nicer horse!

Hoping mine will have arrived today. I have a xc clinic this weekend which definitely classes as a Very Exciting Event. As I also have some of their Optimax I'm thinking of trying both for Sunday...

I've had great results with my mare - she's less spooky and if she does spook/have a tantrum it's no where near as bad as before and can now be persuaded to do as I ask / go past spooky thing. Her concentration is heaps better too!
