I bought a very handsome welsh d before Christmas and am thinking about doing some showing with him this year and since Equifest is right on my doorstep may try to qualify for it! I’ve had a look at the schedule but am so confused. What can I enter him for, he is a 14hh 10 year old gelding.

There are loads of Mountain and Moorland classes if he jumps well he could do the competition classes and workers, if he is well schooled and a good example then the equitation and showing classes, there are Welsh D classes and mixed classes so the world is your oyster. Mostly it is all about having fun and taking part

If he hasn’t done anything before Novice welsh D, restricted welsh D and open welsh D ridden: dependant on your status, home produced or amateur welsh classes as well.
Lots of dressage, riding club pony classes, etc.
As the last post states WHP classes if he jumps. At 14hh novice will be 70cm, open 85 but training stakes go down to 45cm so plenty for everyone.
