After my boy being lame for 2 months we ahd a discussion with my farrier and said that we'd put him on box rest for a fortnight and then review whether he's improved or not and needs nerve blocks & scans.
Atm he's on devils claw which hasn't made a difference at all. The farrier recommended Equiflex (vetvits) which we will put him on (I am aware that it wil ltake a few weeks to start to work).
I wondered if any of you have used it and did it make a difference to your horse at all?

And does this sound like a familiar lameness to anyone?
Boo is as supple as anything at 16 years old. We found out that he has back problems and the saddle doesn't fit (made a post about this, basically we gave a different chiropractar a go and came up with loads of things) a couple of days ago.
He's sound in trot, more so when he has a rider on board, but very reluctant to canter and then comes up very short. There was nothing significant that happened to make him lame, he just came in from the field one day and was lame.
I don't think that the back problems has anythign to do with his lameness because he's been ridden in the saddle for a few years (poor boy) and hasn't had trouble with lameness before.
The weird thing is that the chiropractar said that he's a bit stiff on his left fetlock, but when my farrier did a flexion test he went lame on his right leg and was fine on his left

Very odd, very confusing, very frustrating.

So opinions on Equiflex and suggestions please
