I discovered that the performance of equilab is very dependent on your phone. I loaded it up on my new and old phones (both android) and went for a hack the difference was interesting. Old Sony phone was very accurate, new pixel phone was dreadful. Apparently it depends on the programming of the phone's GPS, accelerometer etc. The programmers at equilab are really helpful and like feedback relating to the software performance on different models

That's interesting. I've only had it on LG and Sony phones, and it's worked well on both.

I've had Equilab show me cantering on our stoney lane when I rarely get out of a walk, usually when am opening the gate across the track, or leg yielding in walk.
It's often lied on my main hacking routes too about different paces, tho every time the mileage is just about spot on.

It did suffer a major glitch back in July, where I apparently did a 65 minute ride (correct) and covered 260 miles (wrong) and hit 165 miles per hour at one point (really? ) having gone from the yard, apparently straight across central London, out into the North Sea and finished at Luton airport! I deleted that one after sending it round as a screenshot to friends ???
We do have a local airport 2 miles away as the crow flies, perhaps my signal was picked up by a plane or helicopter? ?

Oh, and a 2nd one 2 days later, found the screenshot of that, I really didn't leave my area, I havent been in a plane since the summer before lockdown! I was out for about 45 mins in hot temps...

I use it on an iPhone 11 Pro and find it VERY accurate on gaits and location.

Gradient, speed, strides per set distance in bursts, stride length.

I can for example compare stride length in different saddles / pads / hoof boots on or off etc.

Only glitch is if I get off and lead horse it thinks my walk steps are canter.

This was one I had last month. ? I didn't open the app until I was leaving the yard with horse but somehow it started back home.
I did another 3 hours with the ponies and one was in hand so we walked most of it wirh a couple tiny trots.
I think the in hand pi y would lie down in protest at going that far and that's one very speedy walk - imagine the legs going to make that ?? thelwell pony style.

I pay for equilab for the rider alert. I was chatting to someone and it pinged my partner to say id stopped. He looked at where I was, suspected I was gassing but pinged me a message - half an hour later I replied. I hack alone often so it's peace of mind for both of us. He gets a notification when i leave and return. Screenshot_20220921-113226_Equilab.jpg
