Equilibra or Blue Chip??

I have tried in vain to put condition on my dressage horse, he is fed conditioning feeds, balancers etc. He looks well and has a shiny coat but i cannot seem to get proper topline on him. I thought about trying blue chip but then wondered what is better, Blue chip or equilibra? I have heard conflicting reviews.....

I can't comment on Blue Chip as have never used it because of the feed back I have heard.

My old boy is currently on Equilibra and Dodson & Horrel Conditioning Cubes. He is in fine fettle on it, shining coat, bright eyes and a really energetic attitude. (He's 24 and usually winter gets to him a bit and he switches off) He is in good condition with a nice covering on his ribs but if I was honest I'd like to see a bit more. However as dad says at this age he doesn't want to be carrying excess weight and his teeth are due to be done. So once they've been done I anticipate he may put on a few pounds. He is eating more hay than he ever has done too.

Top Spec did put the weight on but he didn't look and seem as bright in himself as he does on Equilibra. Top spec also kept weight on dad's horse through the hunting season too.
 
Another vote for top spec ,my boys been out of work for 18 mths (May last year) hes tb and hes actually looking fat on top spec and alpha with oil .I mustnt let him put on any more weight .His topline and muscle are fantastic he looks like a showing horse .He hasnt been sound for over a year with different problems but everyone comments on his condition.Bearing in mind all he gets is two small scoops of balancer and alpha with oil I think the feed speaks for itself.
 
topspec. he's also on topspec calm condition cubes, bailey's outshine and equijewel. he is incredibly shiny and has good energy without silliness. he still needs more topline but he's only just starting to work correctly so i think it will come in time.
 
TopSpec with either Cool Condition cubes or Super Conditioning flakes. The former is the lower calorie of the two but less likely to send anything silly. The latter you will see a difference fairly quickly but could send him silly if he is the type to.
 
I prefer Blue Chip over last winter my young horse looked fantastic on it, everyone told me Top Spec was much better so I tried him on it and he didn't look half a good.
 
I have tried both but equilibra was far better. My two have put on so much muscle and bloom. I now use about half the recommended amount as they are perfect but if necessary will increase it again. Equilbra is also cheaper.
 
Ditto "TOPSPEC"! Great stuff. Have tried both of the others but neither have been as good as the Top Spec.
 
Just for condition I would use Equi Jewel. As a balancer either top spec or bluechip. Bluechip is better for building up the hindquarters compared to top spec, I find, and is also not as heating IME.
 
Just curious, how does Blue Chip increase quarter development? Is there something in it that the Top Spec lacks?
 
Speak directly to Equilibra, I did at Hickstead & essentially Blue chip adds condition, whereas Equilibra doesn't.

Dolls loves Blue chip & it's really helped her development. Tried her on a tester of equilibra & she wont touch the stuff. Back to blue chip & cutting back on other things then for me.
