My old boy gets a bit tense over his back in the cold season. He sees the osteopath regularly and I was wondering, if the massage pad would also help?
Clearly don't want to spend £250 to find out it doesn't though ...

I used mine on my old ex-racer, and he loved it! Would fall asleep with it on. It really loosened him up, and kept him supple I feel. I also use it on my cob, and it also helps him a lot. Good for warming up, as well as for injuries. One of the best things I have ever bought, in my opinion. Variable settings, and a pretty good battery life. I really like mine. Hope this helps.

Flynn loves it and goes to sleep with a blissed out expression on his face. My big girl however absolutely hates it and I've had to stop using it on her because she stands there all tense with her back up and a "Get this damned thing off me NOW!!" expression on her face. I'd suggest borrowing one to try first

Wish I'd bought mine earlier! My horse does get soreness and tightness in his back and this has really helped him. He loves it, and is stride has truly lengthened since using this on him (about 6 weeks now). It's been truly worth every penny. Just a word of caution though - I don't think it replaces a decent physio/chiro. It's complementary to it.

Both of mine really love their massage pad. Neither of them have any specific problems, but I bought it when my boy was in box rest as another thing to do with him. You can often find them for more like £180 on eBay. I think it's preequestrian that sometimes has them.

Another vote for the Equilibrium massage pad here! Brilliant bit of kit and has helped my ex-racer out loads.

As other poster, check out E-bay and preloved as I bought mine off there

:)

I didn't pay £250 for mine - think it was more £190 inc P&P through prequestrian via ebay that was. You can definitely get them new for under £200.

I don't know whether mine has done anything major to my horse but he can suffer from tightness across his back so it can't do any harm and he seems to like having it on as does my sister's horse and my freaky little pony even falls asleep wearing it so it must be good!

ETA - the reason I can't say whether it's done anything is probably mainly because I don't use it as often as I maybe should to see real results.

You've obviously made up your mind but I'll add my bit :)
I love my equilibrium pad & if I haven't used it for a while I really notice the difference with my horses.
I did the MK 3 day in the spring on my old lad (17) I used the pad several times. On the 3rd day out of the group of all my friends horses, he was the only one who showed no stiffness at all....despite being the eldest by a good few years :)

My ponies love theirs!!!

They fight to wear it first!

Has reduced my physio visits to 4 monthly now instead of 3 weekly! Money saving and the ponies adore wearing it and snooze.

Our horse also loves it and we also have the benefit of a yard owned one that we pay £3 to hire, it might be worth seeing if anyone wants to share the cost with you.

Used it on my mare , she loved it, she would take about 40 mins of schooling to relax but if I'd used that first within ten mins she was relaxed. Defo recommend it..!! Worth every penny..!!

I bought mine second hand from eBay, the horses love it.

I mainly use it before riding, and before going to competitions. It relaxes them, and makes warming up easier.

My big TB hormonal mare is much softer to ride from the outset if I put the pad on her before riding

My friend makes them in your own colours with more massage motors that the equilibrium for £86...............

Best bit of kit I own. I have a horse with arthritis in her back and use it on her every day. She has gone from being really stiff and unpredictable to ride to much looser in her back and longer stride. Chiropractor saw her today and commented that she couldn't find anything wrong with her. Also use it on another horse before competitions. She's much more chilled when she's had a massage.

Mine went wrong about 3 months after I got it. Equilibrium and the shop I bought it from were brilliant. Picked it up from me, tested it fully, agreed it wasn't right and I replaced with a brand new one 2 days later. Not sure I would have got the same service from ebay.
