Equilibrium Massage Pad.....who has one and are they worth it?

As the title says.
Who has a massage pad and do you recommend them?
When do you use them?

Opinions, including mine, are mostly favourable.

I have the hand pad only at the moment, will probably buy the back one ?

I have the back pad - does an ok job but is never going to replace a hands on massage! Also the price point is quite steep ?

They are good but never had time to use mine so sold it!!

I tried the hand held one and was distinctly underwhelmed and sent it back.

They’re ok but you need to have time to use them regularly and be more organised than I am. I go through stages of using it then forget about it.

I've got one but the pony who appreciates it the most can't be left unattended because she rolls with it on. You're not supposed to leave them unattended but it would be helpful if she could "cook" while I did the poo picking! So time to run the 45 min programme is a bit of a hassle tbh.

I have one and really like it. Though I don’t have time to use it much on a day to day basis. I mostly use it before/after competing and between phases/classes.

I will put it on if he’s in and I’m pottering about the yard/grooming

I've had my 'Mr Buzzy' for over 10 years and love it. Used before every ride on dressage horse until he retired two years ago. Its been less 'key' on two subsequent horses but they both enjoyed it. [heads down, eyes half closed]

I also clean it off and have sometimes put it on drivers seat on way to a competition and lean back against it while its 'on' to loosen my back, or alternatively, lay on it on couch while watching tv.

So, marvelous for horse and human! It was five times cheaper than the much touted 'Equissage' system, which is more intense and shaped like a lunging roller. I prefer the Equilibrium because it covers the whole back from wither to 18th rib.

My horses have also generally had monthly massage sessions with horse physio, so they get both.

It’s just a gimmick to make people feel better. Realistically it can’t do much strength wise because too many owners are not experienced enough to be using it and likely to cause damage. It’s mostly just penetrating skin layers. It’s the lazy version for proper brushing with a body brush IMO without the skin benefits.
There are proper massage tools out there but they either cost £££ or they need professional use. I have had a horseware Vibe Rug as got given it for free and that was a waste of money as well.

B was absolutely terrified of his - but he was welsh and pretty dramatic about things when the occasion suited him. He loved the hand held one though.
