Debating the Black Friday deal where you get the magnetic back and quarters pad free. Researched reviews and most positive. Any more who’ve used it with good or bad reviews please?

I haven't used one but my friend swears by it for his and his wife's four horses and is recommending it to me when my horse finally arrives. Puts one of them to sleep as it's so relaxing, apparently!

I think they are great!

Wen I had my little coloured horse he did not tie well, but if I left him tied with the pad on he would doze away, bottom lip gaping open. I would know when it stopped as he would whinney and demand it be switched back on!

Sadly Charlie Horse got untied one day in the grooming parlour and trashed the lot. Rugs, buckets, poo, brushes and the massage pad as a sort of nest in the middle. The massage pad soldiered on for a while, firstly just a bit squeaky, then a pad did not work, then all the pads stopped working. I replaced it with a much more expensive massager (thinking it the Equlibrium was good, then this must be even better), but it was not half as good. I love that you can put the equilibrium on and sling a rug on top, leave them to relax while you do the stable and then they are ready to ride, back all warmed up.

I have one love mine and really notice a difference especially when at stay away shows , use around three times a week normally , use before competing so on the lorrt and after being showjumped too , mine loves his , def worth the money

My three love their massage pads (I have two pads and three neds). I don't think that you'd need a magnetic pad as well, though. I'd chase down the cheapest massage pad only deal.

Bring horse in from field (she lives out), pop massage pad on and replace rug. Put on BOT hock boots. Leave to cook for 30 mins with a hay net whilst getting on with other jobs. I don't tie her up but I'm around in case she decides to try to lie down for a snooze, which wouldn't do the pad any good at all. She's always more relaxed and takes less time to warm up after a massage pad session (she's a bit creaky).

We use ours on The Beast before every ride, in fact even before longlining, in winter at least but still regularly through summer. Because she has tied up and I'm convinced it helps prevent it as part of the warm up process.

When we first started using it she pulled all kind of faces and yawned and stretched as it was running. Then she started reacting less. After the last tie up (infuriatingly I cant remember if I skipped the buzz rug before that ride or not... it was a stressful day and it's all gone blurry) she was back to pulling faces and yawning for a couple of weeks. So I do think there is action on tight muscles. There's a pretty good study been done by equissage that shows the vibration therapy improves locomotion basically. Not equilibrium but close enough to make me a believer in the buzz rug... along with my own observations of the results on my own horse. I wouldn't feel the need to add magnets either... just look for a good deal on the rug and the massage mitt (I really want a massage mitt).

Thank you - contacted physio too and she was positive (noting that the pad does the superficial layer of muscle and isn’t a deep muscle massage) so hunting cheapest deal now. Couple look very good second hand on eBay but they need to be quite discounted against new as violvet selling a new one for 249.

So have spotted an older version (it’s black) in mint condition on eBay. Is there any difference in functionality with the newer grey version - justifying the extra cost? I’ve had a look for tech info but can’t find anything? I assume fit etc might be a bit more advanced but ultimately pad is the same.

I have an older black pad as well as a new grey one. IMHO the black ones are at least as good, and they have 3 surcingle straps rather than 2. I have a new battery /charger combo which works with both the black and the grey one. If it’s in good nick, I’d go for it.

Thank you - much appreciated. It’s in great condition so hoping to get it off auction.
