equilibrium pads

Hi All,
Just wanted you opinions on the XL equilibrium pads. Do you find them useful or is it a bit gimmicky? i have a mare who can be quite uptight in her nature. i borrowed a friend's pad for a session before i rode her and i definitely felt that she was better over her back,but not sure if maybe the placebo effect.
She did seem to enjoy it, was resting her back leg and relaxing whilst munching on a hay net.

I've got my eye on one of these as well. I like the idea of adding this to warm up, cool down and alongside the usual physio and massage visits. I might use it on myself!!
