had a 5 year old mare vetted today and it could be that she is in foal to her brother. She was broken as a 3 year old and then chucked out for 2 years and recently with her 2 year old brother (very intelligent
). She will be scanned on Wednesday and if in foal I will ask the seller to agree to an abortion (if she is under 4 months.) Anyone had any experience and who should pay the seller or the buyer? Not a nice subject but I do not want another in foal mare which I wont be able to ride and to be honest, I don't want to add to the equine population with something that wasn't planned for a very good reason.
