My horse has been in rehab over a period of six months due to severe arthritic changes/ bone bruising in both fetlocks. Time has played a large part in the rehab, I have also used plentiful mobility supplements. But, we are not there yet, so has anyone had any success with acupuncture? I have had fabulous results with my dog for the same, as well as myself, so surprised it is not more prevalent in the equine world...

I had excellent results with a mate with a neck problem with acupuncture. She had two separate episodes of problems with her neck and the acupuncture worked brilliantly both times.

I had great results with mine. I wasn't sure how she'd react but she was snoozing after about the 4th needle. I would have kept it up but ££ has been tight this year.

I haven’t used it on horses, but have on my dog. Would certainly consider it. I’m sure you know but you need a qualified vet.

For severe arthritis and bone bruising though I’m not sure what effect you are hoping to see, so for those conditions I’d save the money towards more conventional treatment

My chiro vet does acupuncture following a chiro session. (yes he is qualified).
It worked v well on B Fuzzy the 1st time, she ended up looking like she was sedated at the finish.
Unfortunately, the next time she wasn't receptive to it at all.

So yes, it can be beneficial for some :)
