Hi all can you help has anyone any info on equine agents good or bad maybe going to look at a horse they have bit nervous of dealers tho been stung before ?
I used one to sell a horse I bought a few years ago now which was a nice little Welsh D but was way too sharp for me at that time.
Using an agent took a lot of hassle out of it. I'd actually NEVER sold a horse before (far too softhearted ) and this was why I decided to use an agent really.
She found my little man a super home; and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, much to my surprise.
Also, I asked her to look around for a replacement horse for me; which she did - she took account of exactly WHAT I was looking for, my lifestyle, riding ability/confidence etc, and then looked for horses which would be likely to suit. Unfortunately there weren't any horses going at the time....... but I do know she went to a lot of trouble on my behalf and it was reassuring to know that she was out there looking and that if something did come up, she'd also offered to come with me to view it.
In the end I got my boy on winter loan from a trekking centre; and ended up keeping him, but that's another story.
I think you need to be VERY careful which agent you use; only use someone who's been personally recommended by people you know, and get to know them so the pair of you develop a good working relationship, espeically important if you're asking them to look for a horse for you.
Thanks for the quick replies all just to be clear I'm looking for info on the dealers equine agents in Sussex thanks again feeling more confident in viewing there horses with feed back so far
