Does anyone use the above joint supplement? Do you rate it /think it any good? I currently give George NAF superflex purely as a preventative but it is quite expensive, and the above is so much cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for, but would it be worth swapping over?

Thanks

Hey, I feel this to my boy who is going slightly stiff on one front leg due to an old fracture to his navicular bone, and I really like it, it has made a difference to him. However as it is only glucosamine and msm, i am aware that as he gets older I will have to move onto something stronger, and preferebly with hyaluronic acid, as the main reason that I feed it now is for the MSM.

As far as swapping over goes, it would depend on the reasons why you started feeding it? e.g. how likely is your horse to become athritic, and his age? Superflex contains all the known ingrediants which have been proven to help prevent, and ease the symptoms of athritis.

I feed winston the 13.99 one

Have found it very beneficial and much better than the vets alternative and of course FAR cheaper.

I used msm and chondroiton (can't spell it) in liquid form.
You can buy it from "Holland & Barrett"
That has a higher msm etc ingrediant than anything I used from the equine industry.

I put my horse on it after tendon injury the vet said to give him some glucosomine but every time I read up on the subject it appears that only the finest product makes the most difference.I have had the vet out a lot because Ollie has had surgery for hock fusion and on his recommendation I have swapped to newmarket joint supplement.I cant tell you if its affecting my horse Positively at this stage but I have had alot of good feedback about the njs and feel that if its a bit more expensive its worth paying the extra.Althought its about £13 more it seems to last the same amount of time and that doesnt seem to bad for something that produces results.

I feed it and swopped about 6 weeks ago from Cortaflex - haven't noticed a difference since I swopped, but then I am only using it as a preventative really.

I used to use Cortaflex, but due to finance swapped to Equine America glucosamine/msm.
There has been no noticeable difference in my boy between the two so i think its well worth the money.
My boy is 28, and a bit arthiritic in the hocks, he still comes out of the stable though like a spring chicken so i'm sure it works.

I use it but only because my loan contract states I have to. I'm not really convinved either way TBH and I personally wouldn't spend a small fortune (which these supplements are) on preventative measures. How old is George and why do you think he needs this as a preventative measure?

Having said that...my horse is stiff behind. The first time my farrier shod her he phoned me after to ask if I'd thought about putting her on Cortaflex. My horse is definitely less stiff now than when I first got her but I put that down to having correct muscle and being fitter rather than the supplement - she's still stiff when she comes out of the stable in the morning, so it's not a miracle cure.

I'm not sure my ramblings make much sense but I guess i'm trying to say yes I use it but I don't know if it has actually helped because all the improvements I've seen also coincide with me making other changes as well....

I have been using it for about 9 months,as a preventative as my boy is only rising 9. It has got quite a high dose of glucosamine as well as MSM so I think its OK for my needs and he seems free-moving and always sound!
