Equine artists to do a portrait of my horse

I'll be saying a sad goodbye to one of my horses this year and want a portrait done of him before the time comes. I have seen lots of brilliant artists on here and there are obviously more who do not use the forum so would like some recommendations.

I've seen some of Jennifer Artist Deakins work on FaceBook and it looks very impressive.

She's in Spain but I don't see how that can be a problem...

I don't have one of PF's (my SIL very kindly did my boy for me for Xmas) but hers are really amazing. If I was paying she'd be the first person I'd ask.

There was a sticky in PG where artists could put up their work. Is that still there? That wouldn't be a bad place to look perhaps?

My husband does them, he did the bhs art auction thingy that was mentioned on here and he goes to some of the big horse events like burghley and your horse live too so you may have seen his work. I'm very biased but I think his work is amazing, he gets a brilliant likeness and really captures the animal's character. He always gets great feedback from clients too.

If you want to look him up his name is Mark Langley. You can Google him, I won't put up a link in case I get a wrist slapping from admin!

Take your time to look at artists so you are sure you find the right person to really capture your horse. And start taking lots of photos, some artists only work from their own, others will use yours if they are good enough but as time is not on your side take lots and lots as soon as possible, just in case.

Me too! I had a link in my signature to a website where you can view my pictures, next thing I know I've got a knuckle rapping for advertising! It's just somewhere people can look at my pictures .....

I took the link off but really can't see the difference between that and putting small versions of the pictures in my signature.
