I think my horse has a sore back but I have no experience of using a chiropractor - can anyone recommend one in the Stirlingshire area? Also, can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay and what I should expect the chiropractor to do?

Well, I use a McTimoney practioner for mine (not good for you as I'm in Yorks) but I pay £60 a time for treatment. I think generally charges would vary between £30 to £60 odd to be honest depending on what sort of treatment you need and what sort of specialist you have (ie chiropractor/physio/McTimoney etc)

I've used a McTimoney chiropractor too(again no where near you so can't recommend her directly but can recommend McT as a whole), she was very good.
It cost £35 for the first visit and then she came back two weeks later and that cost £30. She came twice as she said depending on whether anything was out of line then it can go back out of line over the first couple of weeks, due to the horse being used to a certain way of moving.
For mine - he had his pelvis a bit out of wack, which stayed correct when she came back, and he had a few bits in his neck out of place, which went back into the wrong place within the 2 weeks, so well worth the 2 visits

Also she was trained in TTouch so performed this on the second visit, my horse nearly fell over he was so relaxed!
As for what to expect.....Never had a regular chiro but the McT chiro went along his spine 1st then back end, then front legs, then neck and face.
I held mine on head collar and leadrope the first time but as he enjoyed it so much he was loose the second time, my other horse was given a quick look over as well and the first time the chiro re-alligned something she did nearly hit the roof but was then fine! think the movement shocked her more than anything!
Hope that helps a bit
