Can anyone recommend a good equine dentist in Suffolk?

My mare had her teeth checked today and the opinion was that she needs to be sedated and then have work to improve her pallet and to reduce the sharpness of her back teeth.

I'd like someone experienced and really confident around horses as she wasn't great with the dentist in Wales today. However the dentist wasn't great either...

Any reccomendations?

Thank you :)

My vet is also a dentists so can sedate at same time. I use Hawkedon vets near Bury st Edmunds. They did both of mine just before xmas ones a vet-a-phob and the other had never been done before. Pm if you would like the number

I would recomend damian greenshields he is fab and works alongside many vets :-) I know he comes up near haverhill as he is based in essex so would prob depend whereabouts u are

Jenna Byford-Jones, she is brilliant with the horses and very good with them if they are nervous, installs a lot of confidence.

Pm me if you want her number :D

Our entire yard uses Richard Frost from Hawkendon - he's also a vet so very handy if a horse does need sedating.

this is who i was going to say - i hear good recommendations about him.

Again Stuart he does most of the horses on my livery yard, he is BAEDT qualified and BEVA registered and he is the most sympathetic calm person I have ever known you might find you horse does not need sedating with Stuart unless she needs meggar amounts of work done, over the years Stuart has done marvels with some of the horses on the yard, especially after other so called Dentists, including one that is mentioned above, have been out too treat horses. Stuart also works in partnership with our vets on dentistry.

Stuart Garrard - very calm, experienced dentist (also working farrier), covers Suffolk. First recommended to me by Stowe vets

Stuart worked alongside my (then) vet, when my 17.3 had to have a tooth extracted. He was very good, calm and explained everything that was going on. He also said that he thought many dentists over-used power tools, which was interesting. As said horsey has to be sedated to have his teeth even looked at, I use my vet for all of mine but would certainly go back to Stuart if they needed any serious work.
