equine dentist recommendations

hi there looking for some equine dentist recommendations for the glasgow area. i had my vet out and was told my horse has diastema in 3 teeth and wood need to go in for surgery but wondering if it should be vet or should i be gettin a equine dentist out to do the surgery needed done any recommendations be appricated

The horse is likely to be sedated as they use a high power water jet to force the impaction out from between the teeth, so will need a vet anyway.

Come to think of it, would a dentist have the necessary equipment?

Try Mark Twigg - twigg-horse-dentist.com I think is his website, he does our yard just North of Glasgow. If you phone him and explain he'll be able to tell you whether he can do it or not, but he does my friend's very elderly TB and my pony who both have diastemas, as well as the 'normal' horses.

i used to use brian smith but lost his number i have herd so many horror storys about mark twigg that am scared to give him a try

If the diastemas need widening then it’s a vet job, if they just need cleaning out then a dentist. Have sent you a PM regarding dentists.
