Hi, I need to find an ED but don't know where to start. Can anyone recommend a good one? My boy is kept in Butleight, near Glastonbury and Wells, so someone is that area would be good.

Thanks :)

VictoriaEDT on here covers that area might be worth a pm, not used her personally but i think she gets very good recommendations

Thanks spaniel, do you know how much he usually charges for a visit and checkup? Sorry, all pretty new to me as first horse and first time I'm getting his teeth checked.

Either Wayne Abbott or Charlie Pickman. They are both equally good and much of a muchness price-wise - price will depend on location I think due to travel time, and on how many horses they are seeing in one go etc.

It also depends on how much work they need done - I've paid anything from £20 to £60 for routine float etc, and then more again for anything which requires the vet and sedation. I would budget a minimum of £40.

Thanks peeps, that very helpful. It's so I have a vague idea of what to expect :) I think my yard usually get a dentist out to do them all at the same time but I've kept mentioning it yet nothing sorted yet... So may just get Harry sorted on my own, I know he needs his teeth checked yearly at least and being rising 3, definitely something I want doing soon

Wayne Abbot vote again he charges £42 for local area and is great calm with the horses and last time he came out to look at 2 of mine he said they were fine and could go on for another 3 months and didnt charge me a penny not even call out fee.

Will cooper - lovely guy trying to build his client base. trained/worked with Toby. I use him when he's over in cambridge

Another vote for Victoria, she is excellent. She comes out to our horses in Surrey and is so good, very patient and understanding of individual horses needs :)

Another thumbs up for Charlie Pickman. Have you also considered asking if your vet does it as well? We use Bushey Equine and they are also very good, as one of my horses needs to be sedated to have her teeth done and it kills two birds with one stone, but they might be a little bit out of your area.

Know several of them very well and have used them all.

Fran Ody - nice girl and just about to go off to vet school in Oct.
Toby Lee - Toby was one of the very first people in the UK to be qualified. He has invented tools for the trade, does all Carl Hesters horses and is a good laugh.
Will Cooper - Will has ridden to 2* level. Brilliant with tricky horses.

Have no preference as they all do a good job. There are others I would not have!
