Basically as it says in the title - how often do you get your horses teeth done. As long as I have had my horse I have always got his teeth done every 6 months but just wondered if I could leave him longer?

every 6 months! even though both have gd teeth. one also is done by the vet as needs sedating she is veryover sensative about things in her mouth so as soon as they start getting spikey she lets u know!!!

My EDT tells me how long. She has been this morning after 7 months, and says they will be fine to go 9 months this time.....

Youngsters every 6 months, otherwise yearly unless my EDT states otherwise or if I think there is a problem then straight away!

Once a year, unless EDT suggests sooner or they have any obvious problems. I think how frequently they're seen will depend on how they're kept as well as age. My lot are out pretty much all year round and if ever in overnight are fed from the floor so their teeth wear fairly naturally and they never need very much done.

EDT comes to the yard every 6 months so Sparks gets checked every 6 months, but teeth only done it need it. Our EDT is great and doesn't charge if checks and no work required.

It seems to depend on the horse. We have some at my barn that go every 6 months, and some that go every year. I have one that gets done annually, he's 5, and one that gets done around 8 months or so, he's 18.

The 6 monthers are either fast growers, or have crooked mouths and have uneven growth. Some of them are also just horses that have fussy mouths.

Vet checks mine (horses!) every two years when Tet jab is done unless any probs. Welshie had a sharp edge aged 5. Is now 14 yrs and never been done since. All others have never needed treatment so far...

My pony is done every year.
My horse is slightly parrot mouthed I will have him done every 6 months for a while then if everything is still ok move on to once a year.

Mine is done every six months, dentist is out that often anyway and I get him sorted for a few at a time, and some are on a year cycle, some six months.
