Have a friend who's looking to seek advice from a solicitor who specialises in Equine Law in the Staffordshire or Cheshire area preferably.

Been recommended Darbys, but they are bases in Oxford which is a little far to travel to for a meeting or to pay their expenses to appear in court from there.

Anyone else have any ideas? Insurance company recommended someone in Tyne and Wear, which again is a long travel from here for an initial appointment.

There's a solicitor in Stafford (Adam Tedstone) who rides, hunts etc, who might be able to help. (01785 712243) either to give you another name or something.
Is your friend not a gold member of the BHS as they have a legal helpline, sure they must know who to contact. (0870 900 2172)

Based in Telford, Doncaster and Newcastle - give them a plug as they sponsore lots of Cleveland Bay classes - and I WANT their sash they are offering on Monday at Moorgreen show

Stuart Farr

Writes for the HH and is a horse owner himself!

Don't forget nowadays a visit to the solicitors isn't necessary and rarely get to court! So no need to travel etc!

Stuart doesn't own horses himself, but his partner runs a livery yard. What he does own is ferrets and one of them has a ferret sized Phantom of the Opera velvet cloak. I know this because I bought it for him! Saw them advertised and just couldn't believe such things were sold, but they are and I just had to send him one. Caused great hilarity on arrival in the office apparently.
