Equine massage. Jim masterson?

Ah that's interesting so acpat Physios are topping up their skills with the MT course.

I get it that et isn't for everyone. I think I want to do it as I know and trust the girl who would be teaching me (level 1 and 2 anyway).

It seems more and more people are interested in doing these kind of courses. I do wonder if there is enough work to go round.

there's a recession on-it won't pay a great wage, I do it part-time.Also, most people drop out or don't practise IME. My friend's husband is great at ET, wasn't knocking it, just not for me. Thought there were some great moves.

Yeah I'd only want to do it part time. I've got a proper hobbit instead of going full time when my little girl goes to school I fancy doing something I have a passion for and see where it leads. If it helps my vet Physio career (if I ever have one) then great.

A good friend of mine is an advanced level 2 Mastersons student and will be qualifying in June this year ... She used my lad as a "case study" and i have seen a HUGE difference in him ... massive !!! It certainly works, that is for sure !

For whoever asked there is a " required reading" section on the mm website; his book and DVD are on it ;)

I've done the EBW training through equinenergy too(2009) and am really interested in the mm course. I've been on the Oxford college McT-C course too and rate equinenergy much more. I've read about mm for a couple of years now via American horse magazines that I subscribe too.

MoC: would you mind pm'ing me the details of your route training in mm also? Thank you in advance :)

I mentioned the training weekend to OH and he suggested it as a birthday prezzie :D nice man OH :) And also grateful not to have to come up with present ideas of his own.

Daydreamer. I also don't own a horse yet, I also share, but I think my future with horses is going to involve training or some form of therapy. maybe see you in Suffolk ;)

I registered this afternoon :) Oddly it is not long after my birthday and my OH also said he would put some money towards it instead of buying me a present!

It is just an indulgence for me as I don't think I will ever work with horses. I have done a bit of equine touch on my share horse (copied from videos on the internet but hopefully I can't do any damage!) and I really enjoy watching for his responses. I think it is great that so many people are interested in learning different techniques but I think it will get harder and harder for horse owners to choose a practitioner!

I agree daydreamer it will get harder to pick a practitioner. It makes me think if I want to do this I need to have many strings to my bow. I've heard back and there's a space on the course I want to do so its just a matter of booking it!!!

I think as many skills as you can get means you can be more flexible in your approach to the individual horse.

Some love a rigorous and stimulation massage, some want stretching out, some just need a more gentle and relaxing approach.

The power lies in the ability of the practitioner

Great :) It's just before my birthday. Sounds like we've both been experimenting on our borrowed horses.lol.
