I am looking for recommendations for a good equine Osteopath that covers the South Midalnds.

So far Ive heard of Astwood Osteos.

They need to be kind and patient with youngsters.

Many thanks.

Hi,
I've only used Astwood and found them very good - there's always quite a difference in the horses after they've been treated.

Any reason you particularly want an osteopath? I personally won't use any back prationers now other than a qualified equine physiotherapist. And Tim Bradford is absolutely fantastic - cannot speak highly enough of him - he has quite literally saved the lives of several horses for me!! http://www.bradfordsvetphysio.co.uk/index.html

I can recommend Astwood too.

I can also recommend Gemma Key who is an excellent equine and canine physiotherapist and will travel throughout the Midlands area. She has a lot of vet referrals from leading practices and her details are http://www.gemmakeyvetphysio.com/

I have left a testimonial on her page. I would always consult a physio before a chiro now.

Thanks for your recommendation, I will take a look at that website.

I was asking about osteopath as that was what my saddle fitter mentioned. However, I am aware that an equine physio would be ideal too. My horse has tight lumbar muscles and needs a treatment that involves techniques that can help stretch these muscle groups.

Thankyou also, Applecart.

Sounds like a physio would be better for you, in my experience, osteos work more in the shoulder area.

Can recommend Tim Bradford also - must mention that he is pretty expensive, though... :(
